Will is WALKING

Will started walking last night. He has been standing up on his own for weeks now, but last night he took his first uncertain steps. It was so wonderful to watch him. Of course, shortly after that, he tripped and fell face first into the front of our couch, which left him with something akin to a rug burn down the front of his little face. And we were supposed to have our family portraits today!

My Life Is a ZOO

Yesterday we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. It was raining, but I was determined to get out of the house and do something fun as a family. I hadn't really considered that most of the animals would be inactive and hidden away in dry places because of the rain. Even so, it was fun. Will got to see a lot of animals for the first time. He especially liked watching the lemurs jump around (I like to MOVE IT MOVE IT!) I also fed a giraffe while holding him. The giraffe's long gray tongue would come out and wrap around the biscuit I was holding and then shoot back into its mouth. It was pretty cool, something I've never done before.

October

October has been a full month! I think I took over 400 pictures of Will this month, because we did so many things. There were lots of walks with the stroller, Baby and Me classes, a visit by our friends the Parmalees and their little baby Caylin, a visit by my friend Robin, trips to the Pumpkin Patch, the Malibu fires, a Halloween party for the babies, and finally, last night, Will's first Halloween. And this month Will learned to clap his hands and stand up by himself. He is just getting to the point when I can teach him to do things, which has been so fun.

So, after a lot of work over the last couple of days, here is the October video.
